Getting System V connected to a network

Post by JasonBreen »

How do I do this? Since back then, ethernet wasnt really a thing yet, so I guess it would need serial ports? How would I connect this VM to my network using serial ports in the guest settings?

Are you sure you aren't confusing Ethernet with Internet? The former has been around for a considerable length of time.

Why would you want to connect to a network anyway? If your guest is too old to understand the base medium then it would certainly be certainly too old to implement any of the protocols that sit on top, since as Windows networking / Samba - or indeed TCP/IP and the Internet.
