OpenBSD 5.8 i386 fails to boot with > 1 CPU on 5.0.2+

Post by bconway »

I've already filed a bug for this with logs, but just in case anyone else runs into it:

(bug 14515, https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/14515 )

The workarounds I've found so far include rolling back to VBox 4.3.30, dropping the CPU count to 1 (using GENERIC.MP is fine), using amd64 instead, or using i386 on 5.7-stable with > 1 CPU.

Thanks. The ticket now also has the requested .vdi and configuration, in case a dev swings by or anyone else wants to reproduce.

For those keeping score at home, this is still broken in 5.0.6. I updated the ticket with new logs and screenshots. Thanks.
