Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
I've setup the andyroid guest for my VM software by following everything to the last dot. It won't connect no matter how hard I try.
Here's what it gives me while trying to log-in to my GMail account during set-up:
then this comes up:
showing it has direct connection to the host-only adapter, but no matter what I still get the couldn't sign in page. I can't get past this and I am guessing it has something to do with my adapters on my host.
Please help?

Moved to other guest as this has nothing to do with the host.

Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
I feel like this is a problem with the host, though.

Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
Can you explain why you think that?
Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
Well because I have had a lot of problems with my network and network card as of late, so it just makes sense that I have a random problem that no one else has.Perryg wrote:Can you explain why you think that?

Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
That still doesn't explain what it has to do with VirtualBox. You should post the guests log file ( as an attachment ) and the following:
From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use " " if the name has a space in it.
Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.

Not even compressed?I can't upload log as it says maximum allowed size is 128 KiB... :\
I see you are using the VirtIO setting for your adapters. Are you sure that the guest supports VirtIO?
What was the default setting and why did you change it?
Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
I didn't change anything, this was from a fresh install and run.Perryg wrote:Not even compressed?I can't upload log as it says maximum allowed size is 128 KiB... :\

I compressed it, looks like it accepts it.

Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
Two things.
1) I assume this is the first and only guest that you have created and it must be am image that someone made and you did not.
2) You are having permission issues with VirtualBox due to security issues and you need to read viewtopic.php?f=6&t=66071
Once you have the permissions fixed by either upgrading to 4.3.23 or downgrade to 4.3.12 try it again. If you look at the guest log and do not see any more issues you will need to seek assistance from andy or wherever you got your image from for additional assistance.

Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
It still doesn't work after upgrading to 4.3.23, but I don't know where to look for issues in the guest log.

Or install 4.3.12 for now https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Download_Old_Builds_4_3
Someday you will need to address this real issue though of the unsigned drivers.
Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
I'd love to address the real issue of unassigned drives asap... but how do I do that? >_<; I feel like an idiot.

Re: Andyroid VM Guest on Windows Host - No Internet
I wouldn't feel like an idiot because it is not your place to know. You need to contact the graphics provider and even bugtracker to see what needs to be done. I would however try another guest first to eliminate the issue on your end. Linux is free and you can download Ubuntu which installs fairly easy.
