Virtualbox (Android) and Network issues

Post by EZ »

Hi,
I have an android os on several virtualbox machines. all working fine and fast.
During my work session I can browse the web, read email etc. No real issues.

The problems start when I'm trying to access web server using an install application. I give my login credentials that work just fine on my mobile phone but I keep getting error messages about connection with the servers.

Does it sound logical? Any suggestions for a solution???

THANKS!

The Android product is an emulator supported by GenyMotion.

The VirtualBox.org forums do not support the emulator.

I'm not sure how you got that from the OP's post? I've installed Android as a guest myself, and I didn't use GenyMotion. But certainly, if the OP is running a nested virtualization scenario then he needs to mention that.

And of course, Android is not yet a supported guest OS under any scenario - which puts it on the same footing as (say) Windows 98.

Whenever I google a VirtualBox-Android reported error, the answer has a fix/work-around supplied by Genymotion.

Apparently Genymotion support has a wealth of expertise regarding the Android emulator.

Are you implying that Oracle is acquiring Genymotion, thereby accessing that expertise?

No, I'm not implying anything. I'm stating as a fact that I've installed Android as a VBox VM without even hearing of Genymotion. So, I just wondered what the OP had said to make you infer that his situation was different.
