Not at all, we should have warned you - and I'll do that now a bit more.
Vbox 4.3.8 and up are really not reliable for running eCS - many different
problems with them. 4.3.6 was the last one, that was rock solid for me.

Are there tickets open for specific problems? Needless to say, statements like "version xyz is not reliable" will not be acted upon.

Yeah, #12805 is one. #12785 is another (as reporter can't use 4.3.14).

Ah, thanks for the references. One is already fixed, and the other is so obscure and difficult to reproduce that we haven't been able to fix it yet.

I can pretty much easy reproduce it here. It happens, when my newsserver in the guest runs its expire
process (hd intensive) - and it helps (to crash it) if the host is busy too, so starting a RAID scrub, and a
backup on the host side - will crash it everytime I try this.
These 3 things do occasionally happen here at the same time (if there is more than a normal amount to backup),
and that seems to be a sure killer.

News server + RAID scrub does not equal easy to reproduce in my world, sorry... that's pretty exotic stuff.

If you meant to say that it's easy for you to reproduce, I believe that. But don't be surprised if you're the only person in the world in that situation. What I talked about is whether the problem is easy for anyone else to reproduce, including us.

I'm pretty sure lots of others uses RAID on their host systems.
My point was more, that it happens when high disk i/o is going on.

Maybe same can be achieved with a disk test app like Sysbench
in OS/2 guest .... I haven't tried; but I will, when I remember it :-)
