DesktopBSD 1.6 i386 will not boot

I was able to install DesktopBSD in VirtualBox 1.5.4 from,
DesktopBSD-1.6-i386-CD.iso

During the installation process I noticed that the Screen detection, the display went black.

I hit enter and the installation process continued in the "graphical environment".

After the installation was done and the VM rebooted the following comes up on the screen during boot:
"pnpbios: Bad PnP BIOS data checksum"

then the I get the the Guru Mediation alert from "VirtualBox".

Thing I have tried.
Booting without APCI disabled get a bit further in the process but still VirtualBox crashes.

Any ideas?
