How to share a folder with FreeBSD guest?

Post by obscure9 »

Hello

I have a simple installation:

host: WinXP
guest: FBSD-7-BETA4

as topic, I need to share a folder beetwen Win and FreeBSD
I read that "Share Folders" method is not supported guesting FreeBSD

Are there any other way to share a folder? if yes should you please explain it?

Thank you

I never had much luck getting the guest to connect to network drives on the host, which makes sense. However, I have had luck getting the guest to map drives on a separate PC. What I usually do is have the guest map a drive to another PC, then I have the host map the same drive, and just move files that way. It's more work, but it is functional.

Would Host Interface Networking let a guest map drives directly to the host?

You could try FTP which works well with a PC-BSD guest on an OS X host. I have a public folder on my host OS X that can be accessed by FTP, and it all works very smoothly at the guest end.

Thank you very much!

Riassuming... knowing working methods are:

1 - Network drives on remote machines
2 - Ftp

As "network drivers" you mean NFS mount?
Unfortunatelly I'm on work's lan so I can't mount any nfs or ftp share
Would Host Interface Networking let a guest map drives directly to the host?
Don't know! I'm going to check...

Any other working methods?
Thank you!
