Zorin OS problem with bluetooth headphones

Post by wombatpandaa »

Hey all, I'm using Zorin OS in VirtualBox on a Windows 11 host and I've found that audio doesn't output to my bluetooth headphones despite them working on Windows. I've poked around with alsamixer and the Volume Control app so I know that all channels are on and on full volume, and that the operating system has audio coming out of the application, it's just not talking to my hardware I guess. My feeling is that it's an issue of VirtualBox not pushing audio from itself to my headphones, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing that. Any help would be appreciated.

You need hardware which supports bluetooth connectivity dedicated to the virtual machine as VirtualBox doesn't provide any virtual hardware for that purpose. You could possibly try with a bluetooth usb dongle.
