Greetings,
We have been contacted by someone looking to continue running Warp v3, as their specialized software will not run on anything higher. They mentioned that Warp v3 in VirtualBox does not have a video driver option.
I am inquiring here to see if anyone knows of a solution for that gap, or would be willing to do the development work... which then I would make an introduction between the parties.
Please advise.
I am thankful,
Video driver support for Warp v3?
Re: Video driver support for Warp v3?
One could use the SciTech display driver suite for this, I guess.
It might be available now (still) as part of ArcaOS (an updated version of OS/2, beyond 4.52, with some adaptations).
Newer versions of OS/2 (4, 4.5, 4.52) have built-in support for higher resolutions.

Re: Video driver support for Warp v3?
Greetings Yeti13,
I do not believe the SciTech SNAP video drivers are compatible with Warp v3. I was thinking they needed Warp 4.5x. No?
Yes, I agree, such would work very well.

To my knowledge: best thing you can do is FixPack 40 plus afterwards e.g. gradd097. That gives me a pretty decent display using VirtualBox.

Greetings ghr,
I am thankful,
Excellent! Thank you for the kind reminder there was actually gradd before there was SNAP! (As I recall, SNAP actually relied on the gradd layer.) I had forgotten about gradd. I shall try that out as a prototype.ghr wrote:afterwards e.g. gradd097. That gives me a pretty decent display using VirtualBox.

Re: Video driver support for Warp v3?
If a GRADD driver works then SNAP should also work. It is also a GRADD driver after all. It just contains additional stuff to support specific chipsets.
