stuck at sign with google account, unable to enter email

(I hope this is the right forum to ask question on running android x86 in windows vm)

I downloaded the iso from https://osdn.net/projects/android-x86/d ... .1-r1.iso/

installed as Linux, other linux (32-bit) ( also tried Other, unknown x86)
ran the install, did acpi shutown(ctl-h),
click vm 's file, preference, network tab then under Nat Networks, added NatNetwork with defualt network CIDR as 10.0.2.0/24 supports DHCP
reboot
setup as new instead of from phone backup
after a long long time in checking for updates,
it came up with Google sign in.

However I could not do anything thing there, can't enter email or phone; can't click any one of the 3 options - non responsive

what setting have I missed ? or have have I chosen the vm type?

Would that be a nested virtualization scenario? It is not supported. On top of that Android-x86 is not supported so you're looking at a double non supported scenario.

I am running the windows verson of virtual box on window 8.1. I was trying to create new android vm. is that considered nested?

i saw a post in installing android as virtualbox vm for linux version of virtualbox

If the Win8.1 is your physical computer, no, it's not nested virtualization. But you said:

oops, sorry for the confusion. windows 8.1 is the physical pc hosting the virtualbox
btw I saw posts of running android x86 in Guest Systems->Linux guest

Other Linux(32-bit) id fine for the version. I doubt that this has anything to do with VirtualBox. Does it work using the standard VirtualBox NAT setting for the virtual NIC?

Internet access if fine for me using that in Android 6.0-r3.

My setting is shown in the attached file
maybe nougat x86 still has some bug to iron out but it is supposed to be stable release 1 in Feb, not RC

also what did you use in system motherboard chipset, pix3 or ich9?
i used the first one PIX3.

it made progress beyond email screen after using ICH9 instead of PIX3 for motherboard.
will edit and post how far this will get me.

networking is working albeit slow. actually the entire android x86 nougat is slow despite it's using up to 3 cores of 4 on the win8.1 core 2 quad 2.4Ghz often get "XXX app isn't responding" occasionally "Process system isn't responding. so this installation is useless for me may be faster on SSD and more RAM then 1GB.

I also found out once shutdown, it will not boot - no bootable medium found! system halted

had the same problem. After I did what gg99 said (ICH9 instead of PIX3 for motherboard) it just shows blue (instead of saying 'error connecting to googles server', like it did before) after the "Getting Info" screen.
