Wow. I guess I owe you lunch. It really works. I was disappointed when the Win98 guest computer name wasn't showing up by itself in Networks on the Win10 host. But if you type in \\COMPUTERNAME in File Explorer, it forces the issue and now I can see it in Networks. I'll have to see if I can do this on MS-DOS. It's so simple.
