6.0.6 Fails to install on 10.14.5 Beta (18F108f)
LTNS. Can't get VB 6.0.6 or 6.0.4 installed. I did have 6.0.4 installed and running before the attempt to update. Now neither will install or run correctly.
Thoughts?
p.s. It seems one or more kexts are being blocked from installing.

Hey Lou, long time no see, really glad to see you!
- Download the latest release, or the latest test build (NOT the development snapshot), if you don't already have them.
- Reboot.
- Make sure you're part of the "admin" group. If you are logged in with the primary user account/owner, you are part of the admin group.
- Mount the DMG from the previous step. Run "VirtualBox_Uninstall.tool". Make sure there are no error messages. If there are, please post them, exactly as they appear.
- Reboot.
- Mount the DMG from the previous steps. Double-click the "VirtualBox.pkg". As soon as you start the installation, press Cmd+L to show the log. Select "Show All Logs" from the drop-down menu. Before the last step of the installation (Done), click the "Save" in the log window. ZIP and attach that file.
- Start VirtualBox. If it crashes, open "Console.app" and look at "~/Library/Logs". Is there a VirtualBox related log with the current date/time? ZIP and attach that file as well.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Good to "see" you as well.
I didn't forget how to do everything. lol
I tried both the release versions of 6.0.6 & 6.0.4. I will do it once more to get the logs. Once thing I noticed that was different than I remember when running the uninstall tool was it mentioning VB may have installed Fuse and ask if I wanted it to be removed. Of course I also don't remember if any other apps may have installed Fuse so that's a tricky decision. I'll go through the process in a bit.

MacOS 10.14.5 beta (18F108f) blocking virtualbox kext files.
Since installation of de latest macos beta (v10.14.5 (18F108f)) i've noticed that virtualbox stopped working again.
I Was able to find out that apple is again blocking the virtualbox kernel extentions.
So do not upgrade to MacOS 10.14.5 beta (18F108f) yet - virtualbox will stop working if you do.

@RwSs
I merged your thread with the exact same pre-existing one. Apple maybe onto something, checking 'loukingjr' and 'Christian7544' logs...
I can't remember the exact place, but there's a list of "forbidden" apps, maybe Apple pulled something like that again???

Re: 6.0.6 Fails to install on 10.14.5 Beta (18F108f)
@Lou,
The "something else" which I'm currently looking for; Apple actively blocking VirtualBox until Oracle submits VirtualBox for Apple's "blessing". @Lou, not sure if you remember, there was a case like that in the past, can't remember if it was 5.0.x, 5.1.x, or 5.2.x, trying to find the related past threads.
@Christian7544
Your log is really incomplete. What happened there? Did you follow the instructions?
Either you haven's accepted Oracle as "your true and only savior" in the System Preferences, or there's something else going on... Make sure that you follow the procedure outlined in "Installation fails on 10.13.x, 10.14.x (rc=-1908)".Apr 17 09:57:36 Louiss-iMac installd[624]: ./postflight: /Library/Application Support/VirtualBox/VBoxDrv.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) system policy prevents loading; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

Well, for whatever reason I'm never asked to allow VB to install anything. However, I somehow managed to get 6.0.4 installed again and it's working. I'll leave it be for now.

Yes, that still remains a mystery, no one has been able to pinpoint the exact reasons why sometimes it shows up and sometimes it doesn't.loukingjr wrote:for whatever reason I'm never asked to allow VB to install anything
Somehow? Did you reboot as per the instructions? And what about 6.0.6? How's that going?loukingjr wrote:I somehow managed to get 6.0.4 installed again

I lost track of how many times I ran the uninstall tool, rebooted, and in which orders, etc. I haven't made new attempt at 6.0.6 as yet. I'm afraid. lol

Try as I might I couldn't get 6.0.6 to install on 10.14.5b2. It did install on a different iMac running 10.14.4.

Hmm... it might be the "artificial" Apple restriction then! I'll try to see if I can dig those older instances of this...
