OSX 10.13 has not yet been released. Moving to "OS X pre-releases".
  1. Reboot.
  2. Download the latest release (5.1.28 as of this writing), or the latest test build (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds), if you don't already have them.
  3. Mount the DMG from the previous step. Run "VirtualBox_Uninstall.tool". Make sure there are no error messages. If there are, please post them, exactly as they appear.
  4. Reboot.
  5. Mount the DMG from the previous steps. Install "VirtualBox.pkg". As soon as you start the installation, press Cmd+L to show the log. Select "Show All Logs" from the drop-down menu. Before the last step of the installation (Done), click the "Save" in the log window. ZIP and attach that file.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

I think i managed to get it working, it looks like it has something to do with admin writes and where you run the .pkg.

i uninstalled 5.1.28 with the uninstall tool
i then copied the the virtualbox.pkg to the application folder and wran it from there, it failed again,
i then navigated to system preferences and selected security and privacy, in there was a popup message that orical was trying to install an app do you want to allow.
I then ran the uninstall again without rebooting, i then selected allow and ran the virtualbox.pkg again and this time it installed correctly. and the USB support also seems to be working.

I hope this helps, i will try and uninstall and reinstall to replicate with install logs.

Thanks for the feedback. There has been a change in Apple's policy regarding kernel extension installations with 10.13. From my previous experience on the subject:
For the VirtualBox installation, there is a small difference for first time users of either 10.13 or VirtualBox, and that's a new policy from Apple, which requires that even known developers must be given a stamp of approval before they can install a kernel extension for the 1st time. Expect complains...
You fell in the "Expect complains" part ;) .
I'm not sure why you didn't get a dialog box stating that Oracle wasn't approved. Maybe they removed it in later betas...
