NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and Windows 7 Guest

Post by GenealogyCarty »

My new install of Windows 7 Pro 64bit guest under OS X 10.11.4 Beta 5 does not seem able to identify my video card. Generic VGA is what I get. And screen resolutions are different. Is this part of the Windows 7 not supported under El Capitan?

Why would it? The very definition of a virtual machine is that the only hardware it can see is simulated, and has nothing at all to do with the hardware your host sees.

If you want better graphics performance then install the Guest Additions. See chapter 4 of the user manual.
