Yes, W10 build 20206 and VBox 6.1.12 r139181.
All OK under previous Insider builds. Two PCs die BSOD KMODE...when a VM is started.
So this is why I came to the forum....

Thanks for the confirmation!
I hope Oracle can eventually respond.

1) Our post here serves as documentation to Oracle. Hopefully they see it. They do not want tickets for this stuff, until it happens on a non-pre-release Windows.
2) Be sure to file feedback to Microsoft in the Feedback App. Microsoft needs to know, too.
3) Our choices are to:
-- Go back to a prior build (Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Go back to the previous version of Windows 10), or
-- Switch to the Beta Channel (by using your Beta Channel partition if you setup multi-partition-boot, or by reinstalling Windows 10)

Thanks again :) Been a longggggg while since we've had to do this!

Is this relevant? Before most of these bug checks I see this in the Windows Event log:
The driver detected an internal driver error on \Device\VBoxNetLwf. Event Id 12.
fyi: I added a comment to your MS feedback entry - including BugCheck details. 0x0000001e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000000000000).
We can but hope...

I don't know if that's relevant. And I think I might not be seeing those events, either. What filter would find them?

I usually just check the "red" levels: but: filter on Source VBoxNetLwf, under Windows Logs/System.

I now think that event is irrelevant: see this thread in Windows Hosts section: "ID Event 12 for VBoxNetLwf". Red herring ahoy! sorry.

I have confirmed the problem on hosts:
- AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
- Intel i7-5960X
... so, it's not dependent on AMD or Intel platform. For what it's worth.

Time for me to set my 7 host PCs (with multi-boot), to use their "Windows 10 Insider Beta Channel" partitions and update them -- I haven't needed these partitions for several months.

It crashes (with the KMODE GSOD) on my Windows Insider 20206.rs_prerelease.200828-1431.
Also the bridged or NAT network interface isn't available to the VM.

My smallest (GParted live CD) VM gets to the grub screen then immediately crashes as soon as grub attempts to get the kernel loaded.
