GSOD on Windows 10 build 16188

Post by aniskhan001 »

I am facing Green Screen of Death (GSOD) on Windows 10 build 16188 with VirtualBox 5.1.22
Each time I tried to start the machine, it gives me GSOD just after 2-3 seconds.
The machine I have is an Ubuntu setup connected with Vagrant.

Is it a known issue? Can anyone confirm the same issue as well? Also, is there any fix available?
Thanks! :)

As you are running a "cutting-edge" Beta (Insider) Version of Windows 10, have you reported the problem to Microsoft?

Personally, I doubt that the VirtualBox developers will be interested in chasing something in a Beta version of the OS that may well be subject to further development changes by MS, especially if testers report these crashes using the Feedback App, as they are asked to do.

Yes, there were several reports on BSOD with earlier versions/builds, and they were fixed earlier.
Just reported a new one here: https://aka.ms/P7m3yw

Do you have Hyper-V installed at:
Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > Hyper-V

If so, can you try turning Hyper-V off, restarting, then trying to start your VirtualBox VM?

Also, does VirtualBox crash when you try to use a standard pre-made VirtualBox VM? Try the ones here:
