VirtualBox 5.0.16/17 do NOT start on W10 Pro B14295

Post by JordiJSP »

Dears,
VirtualBox 5.0.16 does NOT start on Windows 10 Pro Build 14295.rs1_realease.160318. In my previous windows 10 preview (I just update it yesterday) it works fine.

I don't know how to retrieve errors. But application does not start neither with compatibility options.

I have tried with VirtualBox 5.0.17 (test) and it does NOT launch neither.

Regards,
Jordi

You are correct. The latest Insider build cannot run VirtualBox. This is a known issue.

This topic does not belong in "Windows Guests". Moving it to "Pre-Release Windows Hosts".

As crashingdutchman coments (viewtopic.php?f=38&t=76813&start=30#p358697), new version 5.0.17 r106344 is working with Windows 10 Build 14295 but with 64 bits VB machines (I have tried Ubuntu/windows7) an error appears:

VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.

As Jacob Klein says (viewtopic.php?f=38&t=76938#p358034), this This is the same error that is being tracked here with older builds of Microsofr windows:
