VirtualBox 6.1.22 missing network interfaces

Post by ci4ic4 »

Hi,

Yesterday I upgraded my laptop to Windows Insider preview:

Code: Select all

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Home
OS Version: 10.0.21370 N/A Build 21370
At the same time I upgraded VirtualBox to 6.1.22 - without testing whether 6.1.20 (which was working fine under the previous incarnation of the Windows 10 development build).

After that, every guest I have installed showed empty drop-down network interface list and the VMs would not start due to its missing.

The easiest test was to downgrade VirtualBox. I had 6.1.18 kit downloaded, which now works fine. This points to a regression in 6.1.22 which exhibits itself under the latest Windows 10 update (as I would not think the release has been done without testing on the released versions...).

I haven't tested yet 6.1.22 on a different Windows 10 version (I have no other suitable hardware at the moment).

Insider Previews aren't officially supported. Could be a new glitch that will get fixed, or a side effect of the update to Insider Preview along with Virtualbox.
