Nested Virtualization
Nested Virtualization
Can nested virtualization be used and is there a way to turn it on? It shows as ticked in GUI but it's not working. The docs state that it's still a work in progress for Intel - will it be available in the next Beta?
Re: Nested Virtualization
The user manual discusses "nested paging" under "Hardware virtualisation". What exactly is the tick mark please you refer to as "ticked" for "nested virtualisation" ? Are you referring please to System -> Acceleration -> Nested Paging ?
What I used to observe in the past with VirtualBox is that it is possible to run VirtualBox in a guest, but I can only create 32-bit operating system guests in the "virtualbox running in the guest vm".

Re: Nested Virtualization
Nested Virtualization and Nested Paging are totally different things; Nested Virtualization is not documented and doesn't work.
Nested Virtualization really allows multi-level VM-in-VM type of virtualization.
Nested Paging is really about accelerated RAM access from *within* the guest (which requires hypervisor and CPU support), and was supported for ages.
