I tried the beta briefly. I know it's suppose to be a major revision but other than changing the fact that the Mac's menu no longer pops up when you didn't want it to, is there any significant change in the Mac version? I tried installing the new guest addition 2d support for Windows and I still can run 90% of the games that come with 7, or the rating calculator.
thanks

Did you actually check the announcement properly with new features and fixes? You have 2D video acceleration, virtIO as network option, new snapshot system, just read it.

Re: 3.1.0 beta for the Mac
oh man, sorry I asked. As I said, the 2d option didn't seem to work for me. what it did do was make the error dialog in WIndows 7 stop popping up to tell me I didn't have hardware acceleration. but as I mentioned, it still doesn't allow me to run most of the games or rate the Windows install. I never use snapshots but what I did read at the top of the forum was, they are broken in various ways, so I kind of dismissed that. And yes, I know I was being selfish to only wonder about new features I actually use. But yes, I read them.Sasquatch wrote:Did you actually check the announcement properly with new features and fixes?
