I have written a utility for configuring macOS (El Capitan to Monterey) to start specified VMs at system boot. This can all be done from the command line but many users are averse to doing that.
There is a brief description and a download link at: VBoxStartAtBoot
The application is code signed and notarised.
VBoxStartAtBoot - macOS - Configure VMs to start at boot.

Re: VBoxStartAtBoot - macOS - Configure VMs to start at boot.
I have released VBoxStartAtBoot 1.0.2. This version offers a solution to macOS not mounting external disks until a user has logged in.
The release can be downloaded from https://whatroute.net/vboxstartatboot.html#download
Changes
o Upgrade to Sparkle 2.3.1
o (Optional) Install /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount.plist to make external disks available before user login.
o Built with Xcode 14.2
