Virtual box can't get past black screen with Ubuntu logo after boot

Post by rin »

Hello, as the subject said, when I start to run a guest linux (ubuntu), it gets stuck with a black screen and an ubuntu logo. (The host is Windows 10)
It worked just fine before. I realized that I reached the limit of harddisk space, so I accidentally pressed log out instead of shut down. I clicked close symbol to shut down the machine after.
Then I added another SATA (I didn't know then that I could adjust the VTD size) and started again, no problem, but it didn't fix the space limit, so I shut down the machine once again.
I adjusted the VTD size and now I can't get past the black screen after boot.

Things I have tried..
  • Turning off hyperv
  • Increasing RAM
  • Turning off 3D acceleration mode
  • Increasing video memory
  • Removing the newly created SATA (although putting it back didn't help too)
  • Pressing

    Code: Select all

    ctrl + alt + f1
, there's a cli screen once, but I saw something that said failed to start hostname service
