3D acceleration makes Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon hang

Hi everyone,

A few days ago I add hyper V to my windows, causing some problems to my VM. I removed it and took the oppotunity to upgrade to the last VBox, 6.1.4
Unfortunately my linux Mint 19 Cinnamon has been having problems ever since, Cinnamon crashing and the VM just bein unusable for slowness. It also often crashes when I resize. By default, my VM started on VMSVGA without 3D accel.
I figure out that was the issue from my reading of this forum.
However, when I tick 3D accel, the machine can't start, it shows the mint logo but then stays black and constantly resizes.
I did install the guest additions. tried to refresh drivers with ubuntu-drivers but it doesn't do anything.
I'm at a loss what to try.

My host is win 10, graphic card nvidia GTX 1060, attached are the logs

Do you have installed xserver-xorg-video-vmware ?

yesm green in synaptic. I marked it for reinstall, still the same is happening with 3D Accel

I'm also trying to boot on a livecd with Mint 19 xfce and it won't start with the 3D accel

did you try other distro ?
