Vivaldi browser freezes (VMSVGA + 3D acceleration)

Postby Gwen » 16. Jan 2020, 12:44

Vivaldi browser uses Hardware Acclereation if on a system.
With Virtualbox 6.0.14 and 6.1.2 the browser starts and freezes completely. Killing it with xkill results in a crash of VirtualBox.

The only way to start Vivaldi is to disable 3D in VMSVGA or to start vivaldi with
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
vivaldi --disable-gpu
.
But this will disable all video decoding in Vivaldi and slow down the complete guest.

Ticket is already reported ticket#19208

VirtualBox 6.1.2 r135662 |Windows 10 Pro 1909 Host | Debian 10.2 + Ubuntu 19 guests
