Ubuntu as host and guest: how to access guest filesystem from the host?

Hi,

I have Ubuntu as host. I have installed then Virtualbox and Ubuntu as guest.

Now I would like to access the files in the guest from an application installed in the host to edit them or created new files/directories.

Just like if you had a 2nd computer; network the two of them, use SMB or NFS shares to connect between the two.

Please read the following: User Manual, ch. 6.2. Introduction to networking modes including the Overview table, which shows quickly what kind of connection is required to achieve what you want. And remember, you can always have more than one network card in your guest to cover multiple scenarios.
