As an alternative, I downgraded vbox from 6.0.10 to 6.0.6, then it works ...
To an user, an alternative solution or a workaround is more useful and helpful than a duplicated error elaboration.

i also have the same problem. Even trying to install a fresh install of Centos is throwing me the kernel panic
attached the zip error
Processor Core i7 8665U | 32GB RAM | VBox version 6.0.10, tested 6.0.12 having the same issue

The issue seems to be resolved in Version 6.1.2 r135662 (Qt5.6.2)

This issue seems similar to viewtopic.php?f=3&t=93990 . Might try taking a look there and seeing if anything helps.
