I can boot from the OL8 iso fine and go through the installs, but after the install completes and I try to book the resulting Oracle Linux 8.0 VM, the Grub2 screen comes up as normal, but after that, the OS goes to a blank screen with the cursor in the upper left blinking. Nothing else happens, there is no disk or network activity in the VM.
I saw some notes about Video issues starting the GUI, but it doesn't even get that far. I tried on VB 4.3.40, 5.3.32 and 6.0.10. I tried various Software installs as there seems to be some known issues with selecting Server installs, so I chose Workstation. Tries auto disk partitioning and custom, everything seems to end up with the same result. Adding nomodeset to the Grub2 boot menu didn't seem to help. Also the rescue entry in Grub2 doesn't boot either, only the DVD ISO does, nothing else. My other VMs start fine, OL7 and OL6, Win12, etc.. Any ideas on what the magic formula is to getting OL8 VMs to boot in a VirtualBox environment? The VBox host system is OL7u6 and I looked at the logs and they end at line 1148 always. Like the boot loader is hung, perhaps on a disk issue:
