I am trying to boot a linux guest from a Windows OS and the guest freezer either on the blue boot screen or on the black loading screen rigth thereafter. What could be wrong?

With that little information it is impossible to say! We could speculate but it won't get you any nearer to a solution.

We will need to see the VBox.log file from the guest in question. Boot the guest, make sure the problem occurs then shut the guest down (by force if necessary). zip the log file and post it.

I got it! Sorry for not giving enough info. Hyper-V was running ang I guess one cannot run Hyper-V and VB on once unit!
