Hi,
I was a happy user user of Virtual Box 6.0.4 on both host and guest Ubuntu 18.04 LTS until the latest problem with kernel. I managed to install development version 6.0.5 and it kind a worked except huge resolution problems.
Couple of hours ago I installed Virtual Box 6.0.6. Unfortunately, Guest Additions are not running correctly since i am stuck with only low resolution options.
So I installed development version 6.0.7 hoping this would work. Unfortunately, Guest Additions cannot even be mounted. If I mount them manually the installation starts, asks me for password (with terminal in the background) and then the install crashes (terminal disappears)...
What can I do here? (Except never ever upgrade again if the system is working. But it is to late for this...)
Thanks.

What problem with what kernel?SamH wrote:until the latest problem with kernel
We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:SamH wrote:Guest Additions are not running correctly since i am stuck with only low resolution options.
- Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
- With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
- Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
Why is that? Did you unmount the GAs before upgrading? You should always do that! Did you use saved-states BTW?SamH wrote:Unfortunately, Guest Additions cannot even be mounted
1) Don't be a pessimist, 2) Everybody and their cousin has upgraded, 3) You can always downgrade, it's never late...SamH wrote:Except never ever upgrade again if the system is working. But it is to late for this...
