Hello,
I am trying to run a vm with an .ova from a class. I am running Ubuntu 18.04 and virtualbox 5.2.18. My vm fails on startup, the screen looks like the below.
I have tried the solution on ask Ubuntu labeled "Graphics horribly corrupted on Ubuntu 16.04 in VirtualBox, showing random strips of pixelated colors"
I want to post my log file, but every time I do it tells me I can't post urls...
I will wait a day and try again, but any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Either upgrade to the last of the 5.2.x series (5.2.26), or -preferably- to the 6.0.x series (6.0.4). If you do, remember to update the Guest Additions (GAs) on the guest. See ch. 4.2.2. Guest Additions for Linux for more information.jfftilton wrote:and virtualbox 5.2.18
You don't have to post a URL, in fact we really want the log here, with the message. And we need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:jfftilton wrote:I want to post my log file, but every time I do it tells me I can't post urls...
- Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
- With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
- Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
