[Solved] Linux Guest kernel 4.17.X causing GUI freezes

Huuh? The only difference is the kernel version, so it stands to reason to suspect a kernel problem.
As blacklisting the vboxguest kernel module (the one that comes with the 4.17 kernel) works around the problem suspecting that kernel module to have a bug or to be incompatible with the 4.17 "core" seems logical.
Who maintains that kernel module is not clear to me though.

FWIW, I tried blacklisting vboxguest in grub config for ma Fedora28 ws VM (adding module_blacklist=vboxguest to the kernel parameters in /boot/grub2/grub.cfg), but that didn't solve all the issues.

It seems running 4.17.4 is the culprit, so I probably need to wait for an update of the Fedora kernel.

Problem resolved by the 4.17.4 kernel.
