Hi,
I see there are quite a few posts regarding this issue however I was not able to resolve my issue from them. Ever since Ubuntu updated it's kernel (a few weeks ago) the guest additions won't build and be usable. I tried using the latest test build (currently 5.2.9 121224) to no avail. My host is windows 10 and my guest is Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with the 4.4.0-116 kernel.
In the vboxadd-setup.log I see an error stating:
Kernel configuration is invalid.
include/generated/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing
run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it.
Please let me know what logs you need and I will be happy to provide them.
Thanks,
Benny
