In a typical desperation reaction I clicked on the snapshot button without knowing what will happen. And I got the system booting in the graphic mode! I always thought that a snapshot is a way to going back to a state that was saved in the past, which is not my case, I don't remember ever saving any particular state. Just for my own enlightenment I would like to know how this could happen.

Hey folks - thank you very much for your time :D

Snapshots can not happen unless they are made to. Sometime you must have taken one or it would not be there.

Is it possible that VM takes a snapshot automatically from a "good" state? Actually is OK, one way or the other my issue seems to be solved.

Thanks again

No, absolutely not. Taking a Snapshot is a user-initiated action.

I think I know what happened. I see that clicking on the box where my name is (top right), I get the different actions: log out, shutdown, etc. Clicking on log out I see that right below there is a box that was checked, probably since the installation that says "Save session for future logins".
