Hello,
The download page tells us that the Guest Addtions 5.2.1-118447 should work in recent linux guest kernels. If they do not we should tell. Well, they do not in the following environment:
Host: Win10
Guest: RHEL 7.4
VBox: 5.2.0
GA: 5.2.1-118447
I tried with the linux guest kernel releases 3.10.0-693.2.2.el7 and 3.10.0-693.5.2.el7. After rebooting the system I could login but suffering from a very slow GUI which is not usable. The problem seems to be the same like in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=84198
I've attached two vbox logs here which may provide useful information. The earlier log was taken with linux guest kernel 3.10.0-693.2.2.el7, the second one with linux guest kernel 3.10.0-693.5.2.el7.
I'm disappointed that a final version auf VBox 5.2 was release which contains such huge problems for a lot of linux guest systems. Some of these problems seems to be known from BETA and RC, but the "stable" version was released anyway.
Hope the information provided helps to release a solution, soon.
Best regards,
Joerg

Guest: Centos 7.3.1611
Host: OS X 10.11.6
Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-5.2.0-118431
VBox-GA-5.2.1-118447
Installed VBox-GA-5.2.1-118447 and it causes my VM now to boot into emergency mode after installing GA.
Was working fine before GA, sluggish at times but went south when I installed GA.
That's all I have for now.
I have a Clone so I am good for now but this is broken. I might also add that taking a 5.2.0/ExtPak5.2.0-118431 to another OSX machine and pulling it into VirtualBox causes the Centos 7 client also to boot into emergency mode...all the time. Pulled almost all my hair out trying to get this to work....NO WORKY.

Re: VBox-GA-5.2.1-118447 do not work in RHEL 7.4
Need to add this...
Tomorrow I will look at repairing grub and seeing if that does the trick getting my VM back working. However, I neglected to say that after doing about 10 copy/moves to a second host and having them ALL break the same way as well as the lastest issue when I installed Guest Additions and rebooted and found my VM was broken the same way (booting to emergency mode). I think the problem is with base 5.2 and perhaps the extensions because during all 10 of the copy moves, there were no GAs installed on the source VM (or the Guest Additions were still at 5.1.28).

Re: VBox-GA-5.2.1-118447 do not work in RHEL 7.4
I've reverted my machine back to snapshot where GA from 5.2 BETA2 are installed. With these I could use my guest machine.
I would like if the GA from 5.2 BETA2 could be made available as ISO for download. So I could use them for reinstallation after a kernel update.

Ah, Thanks a lot. I didn't know this link.
Re: VBox-GA-5.2.1-118447 do not work in RHEL 7.4
I would like to report that the GA from the following link works fine in my environment (see initial post).
Link: http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb ... _BETA2.iso
Works for me means that I'm able to resize the guest window, change the screen resolution in GNOME UI, use the clipboard and do not suffer from the performance issues of my UI.
