VBOX Guest additions does not work with OEL7.4/OEL7.4UEK

I was running 5.1.28 on MacOS and the guest additions were not loading on OEL7.4/OEL7.4UEK. I tried the very last BETA2 and BETA3 r118015 to no avail. Kernel configuration invalid error message in the boxadd-setup.log file.
Linux version: Oracle Linux 7.4 Kernel version: 4.1.12-103.3.8.el7uek.x86_64.

That doesn't make sense. 5.1.28 is not a beta. The only betas of the GAs you could have found are from 5.2.x - and you should never use GAs which come from a later version of VirtualBox. You should always install the GAs that came bundled with the VirtualBox version you installed, or don't install GAs at all. In extremis - i.e. when there's a known bug - then you can install a slightly older version of the GAs (or just leave the previously installed GAs untouched).

Can you expand on "don't load"? You get no error message? Is 3D acceleration enabled? Does the problem still occur if you disable them?

Hi, Sorry if I wasn't clear, I have been running on 5.1.28, which I know is not beta fine, until I updated my Oracle Linux version and then the video driver of VB would not load, symptom: I can't resize the window and in Linux guest if I go to setting - display I only see a choice for 800*600 or 1024*768 with and unknown display. I hope it is a little clearer. Then I tried the latest version of VB Beta 2 and 3, same issue. I did not try the non uek version, I'd like to run kernel 4.1.x.

Hi any news on that issue? I am now running latest kernel of OEL7.4: 4.1.12-112.14.1.el7uek.x86_64 #2 SMP Fri Dec 8 18:37:23 PST 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux with VirtualBox 5.2.4 r119875 and I still can't get the video to work properly.

I got the same issue, currently with VirtualBox Version 5.2.6 on OEL7.4: 4.1.12-112.14.13.el7uek.x86_64.
This is either with downloaded and installed VBoxGuestAdditions_5.2.7-120326.iso, or with kmod-vboxguest-uek4-5.2.4-1.el7 & vboxguest-tools-5.2.4-1.el7 packages from ol7_developer yum repository.
Video driver does not load/work.
