I am trying to install Debian 9 on virtualbox 5.1.2.6. Each time I try, the installation gets to a certain point and I get the following message:
An installation step failed. You can try to run the failind item again from the menu, or skip it and choos something else. The failing stem is: Select and install software. I did manage to capture the exact install point that is hanging up. It is on the libkdeclareative5 library. According to Debian this library should not be used in production installation but only for development. There doesn't seem to be any way to put a hold on the item except if the OS is installed . Catch 22.
I'm using an MSI970A-G43 motherboard and an AMD FX 4350 CPU. Am trying to install with a KDE desktop.
Any help will be sincerely appreciated.
