Hi there folks,
Win 10 host
Debian Jessie Guest
Virtualbox 5.1.6 r110634
This morning I updated I updated my host machine, at which time, I found that 4.x would crash upon start(was running it because of laggy scroll issue in 5.x) so I updated Virtualbox, extras and guest additions. I also updated my nVidia drivers.
The issue I'm having is that no video will play in the browsers. Regardless of whether it's chrome or FF, it loads a buffer then tells me if the playback doesn't begin, to restart the device. All videos react the same and I was watching this particular video last night before going to bed.
I'm not sure where to begin with this issue any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Updated from latest 4.x to 5.1.6 - No browser video playback

Try switching the guest audio to Intel HD audio in the guest settings. If that works then also check to see if the audio has a .500 lag and report here.

Hi there Perry,
Changing the audio to Intel HD did resolve the video playback issue. Can I ask how to check on the lag? I don't see any other settings or options in the audio tab aside from driver and controller.
Thanks!

Watch a video and see if the audio does not match the lips. Use youtube or something that allows you to see this kind of behaviour or play a local video that you have.

It does not sync up any longer. Does that mean I need to change this setting?

No, it means that you have encountered a know issue with the new audio architecture and need to post a ticket at bugtracker
There may already be one but if not be sure to post the guests log file ( as an attachment ) there.
