Host OS X: 10.9.5, Virtual Box 4.3.34
Guest: Fedora 23 ISO
When booting the install media, it boots but then where I should get a login window or the installer UI, I get a GNOME "Oh no! Something has gone wrong." message instead. This problem doesn't happen with 5.0.10, but there I run into bug 14854.
dmesg doesn't report anything super enlightening

Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

I have just tried this today. Same behavior as the original post. We've done four installs on two computers, all had the same behavior.

00:00:01.344589 Package type: LINUX_64BITS_GENERIC (OSE)
00:00:04.500146 Guest Log: BIOS: Booting from CD-ROM...
Two problems:
1) you are using the Ubuntu fork and we do not support that here.
2) unless you actually install the LiveCD you can not install the guest additions and you will always see the Oh no without them.
