Try the newer releases and if they don't fix your issue then you will need to contact Microsoft to see what to do about your permission issues.

Oh
FYI i am also using another guest machine it's a Ubuntu based CS50 appliance
it works just fine it has all three adapters NAT,host only,bridged
Y this alone doesn't work..?
