I don't understand the Paravirtualization setings. Should I set it to KVM if I'm running Ubuntu 15.04 as the guest and Windows 8.1 as the host?
On my host, I am running an Intel i5 2500K at 4.5Ghz with 24GB of system RAM, and 2GB of VMRAM. What are the optimal systems for my Linux VM?
VirtualBox is 5.0.0
Current VM configuration is:
3D enabled, 256 VRAM, 4GB system RAM, 4 processors, VT-x/AMD-V, Nested Paging, PAE/NX, KVM Paravirtualization.
I don't know what many of the acceleration systems mean.
Thanks.

KVM is correct. You should switch the number of processors to 2. If your Ubuntu guest is 64bit you don't need PAE/NX enabled.
OSX, Linux and Windows Hosts & Guests
There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.

Thanks. My Ubuntu is 64bit. I disabled PAE/NX and set to 2 CPUs at 100% execution cap.loukingjr wrote:KVM is correct. You should switch the number of processors to 2. If your Ubuntu guest is 64bit you don't need PAE/NX enabled.
Do I need to install anything in the Ubuntu guest to optimize use of the KVM paravirtualization?
