I'm trying Debian Jessie out, or so I thought. I'm upgrading my server (clean install) but I want to fiddle around with a virtual installation first for look for pitfalls, etc. I've done several installations and non get past the same point every time. I did a video capture that is watchable here https://youtu.be/k8me8oz53G0 After the blank screen, nothing happens. I goggled for some solutions and tried turning off (and on) 3D acceleration. I tried enabling PAE/NX to no avail. I did try host+f1, which I got me a login prompt, no problem loging in. doing the host+f1 and host+f7 just blanks the screen again as if I've done nothing.
I'm not fluent in linux world and just tried out some virtual machines a couple of times. I
My settings I've tried that aren't set by defaul is
512mb + 4096mb ram
12-128mb video memory
1-2 cores
8GB hdd
Edit: I'm running on Windows 7 64-bit
