Problem with Mac iSight and Ubuntu

I have definitely confirmed that others have had issues getting Ubuntu 14.04 to work with the iMac iSight camera. It looked like there was a fix at Ubuntu on AppleiSight, but to no avail. I looked at a couple of other things too, like the gstreamer-properties to see if it shows up on the video tab, but it does not. I could not get Cheese to work. I did double-check to make sure iSight was a selected USB device. Anyone have any idea on how to get this to work? Thanks!
