This is a link for a bug of Chrome >40, only on VirtualBox. It seems to be related with Guest additions.

Is there any workaround?
Thank you

Re: Chrome issues only in VirtualBox
I just noticed your post. I was about to create my own but yours will do.
From what I can tell, the problems occur only in Linux guests. The cursor doesn't change correctly, you can't select text, etc. It does seem to be a VirtualBox issue because Chrome works fine with a Linux host.
edit: also works fine in Linux guest (LM 17.1 Cinnamon) running in VMWare Fusion.
re-edit: problem occurs with all hosts.

Re: Chrome issues only in VirtualBox
yes thanks mhanor. I had seen the workaround. I had hoped posting about the problem might lead to a correction in VirtualBox itself. On just the one host I am typing on I have 22 Linux guests. Going through all of them to add the workaround is kind of a pain and it's only one of several hosts.mhanor wrote:The workaround is described here

These kinds of problems that are reproducible should be reported to bugtracker.
It would also help if you can post the ticket number here so other can see the progress, add information, or see the final results.

Well there you have it. All further discussions should go there.
