Guest Additions on Fedora 20 shared folder module fail

Post by slenderman »

I had my 4.3.20 setup working perfectly since December, but my company updated the patches on Windows 7 and I could not get it working as per the suggestions in the forum. So, I've moved back to 4.3.12 and tried to set up a new vm with Fedora 20. Nothing that I have done works. The "Building the shared folder support module" fails each time I try this.

I have followed these tutorials:[removed due to being new user]

Code: Select all

[root@localhost ~]# yum -y install kernel-devel kernel-headers dkms gcc gcc-c++
Loaded plugins: langpacks, refresh-packagekit
Package kernel-headers-3.18.6-100.fc20.i686 already installed and latest version
Package dkms-2.2.0.3-28.git.7c3e7c5.fc20.noarch already installed and latest version
Package gcc-4.8.3-7.fc20.i686 already installed and latest version
Package gcc-c++-4.8.3-7.fc20.i686 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
Should I go back to an older version of Fedora? I'm not sure why it would fail if everything is to date and installed.
