Having trouble configuring virtual box with multiple adapter

Post by eagle2120 »

Im having trouble setting up virtualbox to work with 2 nic cards. We are trying to setup a VPN on a virtualbox windows 7 machine, with a host fedora 20 machine. We want the NIC card going to the virtualbox machine to have an address of 192.168.10.16 and the host to have an address of 192.168.10.15. The host is configured with two Ethernet connections, and the .15 is setup as default. However, when I do an ifconfig, only one adapter card shows up .15. The card assigned with .16 is not showing up at all, which makes it hard to setup the virtualbox address of .16 if it doesnt show up. I think I can get this working, so the second part of my question, is that when it is setup and shown, how should I configure it so that the connections go through the VPN inside the virtualbox machine, and out through the other NIC card?

Moved to "Linux Guests" as I do not see a host problem here.

Post the output of the following command in the guest :

Code: Select all

sudo ifconfig -a
