Backtrack 5

i am sorry if i m posting this at the wrong place but i just got fed up from reading tons of forums today.

i have installed 32-bit backtrack 5(gnome) on my virtualbox 4.0.10(latest) with host OS win7 64bit.
i am able to connect to internet by using bridged mode setting in vbox network adapter but when i try to use any of the network analysis software
(say wireshark), no wifi interface shows up , i use my laptop wifi(dell inspiron 1440 miniwifi 1397) to connect to the internet via a router.
i am able to catch my own packets with wireshark.
iwconfig shows
eth0 no such extension
l0 no such extension

plz point out the possible problems
