Post by brooze wang »

:x
After i upgrade one of my virtualBox instance from 3.2.10 to 4.0.6, and install the Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.0.6-71344 package.

Then restart my guest os, it complain that "Unknown configuration node '//guestNFS' found in the configuration of IntNet instance #0 "

What to do with this ???

Following is end part of the log message:

C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox>

i think it should work if i delete entry: guestNFS, guestssh . Both are set by myself serveral month ago but failed to take into effect. Or maybe i should delete more entry?

now, i need to google to learn how to delete them ...

Restart guestOS, still complain message " Unknown configuration node '//guestssh' found "

So, continue to delete all node, and final result is:
C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox>VBoxManage getextradata Lucid enumerate
Key: GUI/LastCloseAction, Value: save
Key: GUI/LastGuestSizeHint, Value: 1024,573
Key: GUI/LastNormalWindowPosition, Value: 328,196,1024,618
Key: GUI/LastWindowPostion, Value: 0,0,1152,911,max
Key: GUI/MiniToolBarAlignment, Value: bottom
Key: GUI/SaveMountedAtRuntime, Value: yes
Key: GUI/ShowMiniToolBar, Value: yes

C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox>

Now, restart guestOS, wow~~ I make it !!!

Thanks for the pointers - help me solve my update issue to 4.0.8. It seems to be a new intolerance introduced for NAT forwarding configurations which are no longer used... I have a Windows guest and a Linux host, so its not architecture dependent.
