64-bit guests don't install
Well, I'm not one of the people writing virtualization software, so I'm certainly no authority. I just understand the theory. In theory, there should be no problem running 64 on 64, just as you can virtualize 32 on 32 today, be it in hardware or software. The people who actually write the software can give you a better answer. But I'm assuming there must be a reason 64-bit guest support is arriving later than 32, even on 64-bit hardware.

64 is hard
Well, I know less than you. But I do know how much of a hassle it was just getting flash/youtube to work properly in ubuntu64bit (a few months back when I did it last, maybe easier now) so it doesn't surprise me. The reason is newness, and theory is always simpler than real life in computer land as we all are well aware. (eg: that tiny simple script yesterday just took me 6 hours and its not even polished!:roll: ) (and poetic justice when I try to post this now I'm getting a mysql error too many connections I guess I'll have to wait
)
cheers!
