How do you get to the mini-toolbar in full screen Ubuntu?

What am I doing wrong? I can see the mini-toolbar pop up at the bottom of the screen during start up and shut down but while Ubuntu is running it appears to be hidden underneath the bottom panel. It does not appear when I move the mouse to the bottom where it is supposed to be. How do you get to it? Is there keyboard command that will make it appear?

Works for me, but only when 3D is not enabled. I am checking it today to see why that is.

Ah yes, you are right. It only works if 3D is disabled. Sounds like a bug to me.

It might be. I know the ogl code was worked over in 3.2.10 to fix some problems so I am considering a regression issue, but need more data to post a ticket.

Just tried it with a VM with the toolbar on the top, panel at the bottom, no problem, it shows up just fine, WITH 3D enabled. Unfortunately, I don't have a VM with full 3D and two panels, so I can't fully test this. The one with a panel and 3D, put the panel at the top, no problems either. But it's Kubuntu, so maybe KDE isn't using full 3D.

I think it is a Gnome and Compiz thing Sas., but it did work in 3.2.8 and now it doesn't.

Just an FYI, a workaround for this problem seems to be keep the VM minimized until it's fully booted, then switch to it. When I do this Windows 7 stays in Aero mode and the toolbar remains accessible (the guest OS won't be visible immediately after switching to it, however; you have to click once anywhere on the screen and then it'll show). If I instead keep the VM open full screen during the boot-up process, the screen flashes black and Aero disables itself once the guest desktop shows, at which point the toolbar disappears.

But Aero isn't supported by VB, so you should not have it.

Sorry, I meant Aero on the host, I'm using Windows 7 host and Ubuntu 10.10 guest. Keeping the VM minimized until it's fully booted then switching to it keeps the Windows 7 host in Aero mode and prevents the VB toolbar from disappearing with 3D acceleration enabled.

Wow. I have a PC with Windows 7 on it and run various machines in full screen but mostly seamless and don't have to jump through any hoops to keep areo working.
Windows 7 Pro that is.

With 3D acceleration enabled for your VM? This is not a workaround to keep Aero working on the host, it's a workaround to keep the VB toolbar accessible while in full screen with 3D acceleration enabled. Aero remaining enabled on the host is a side effect. Aero disabling itself is not unusual, the system is treating the 3D accelerated full screen VM just as it would treat a full screen 3D game.
