Post by reiner1992 »

Whenever, I run a Virtual Machine and minimize it, my windows xp host crashes and i have to reset it manually, because not even ctrl alt del works. I am currently running ubuntu 6.10 as guest and xp as host

I have the same problem. Exactly the same.
My host os is XP pro SP2, my guest os is Windows Server 2003 SP2...

I verified the problem exist only with Windows 2003 Server as guest.
When I resize the window I have no problem, I can maximize with no problem too. But when I minimize the virtual machine the host just crash, everything frozen, no dump, and I must perform an hardware reboot.

Just another piece of information, if I start the vm with vboxmanage -type vrdp, as soon as I minimize the command prompt where vdrp is running the host crash.

Turn off hardware virtualization. Known problem and already fixed.
